That's actually a little more politically correct than the norm. Usually these ads specific both gender and nationality.
Happens all the time in Canada; its just not advertised. The sheer number of people who interview for a simple job that requires no skill and no knowledge and yet the final choice remains up to the manager who is not really required to say why he chose the 'victorious' candidate.
racism, sexism, agism, all -isms exist everywhere. The only difference is that here in the UAE they're in your face (and I like that, i'd rather not be lied to).
