I drive a German car, with the tank on the right side. I rarely wait for more than 1 car to fill. Also, in countries where petrol isn't that cheap (e.g. Europe) folks don't just top their tanks, they usually put $20 or $30 worth, which is just a few liters. Here we just pour 60 liters, so it turns into a waiting game.
